This is where the hungry come to feed. For mine is a generation that circles the globe and searches for something we haven't tried before. So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it.

Scene it.

the celebrating continued to saturday.. with my get out of your comfort zone night of fun with friends. i had made it dressup theme night of Hipster-Scenester/AmericanApparel/LadyGaga.. and i'd have to say everyone tried their best, some even went out of their way.. WAY out of their way to match the theme. GO ANDY.
anyways we started with dinner at Golden Palace (We had never done an asian family style dinner.. so i figured it'd be something different.. and cheaper than the usual places) after dinner there was the opening of the crazy random, yet crazy awesome gifts from friends. then we off to ktv for karaoke!

sunday followed with a fabulous home cooked meal at the parents... and ended with a delicious cake from super h mart! i'm completely spoiled with great family and friends! Thanks everyone for a fantastic birthday weekend!!!

omg birthday twins.

it just so happens that 2 omgbffer's have the same birthday (different years), so when their birthday comes around they have an extended celebration. this year we celebrated 2 weekends in a row. the first with dinner at dolce vita and dancing after at deco lounge. the second with a night out in rice village and after drinking eats at la tapitia. on this night, dru had adventures in parallel parking under stress...but we had great parking spots!
anyways both nights were exciting times, hopefully the birthday gal and guy had a great time too.

as long as it's fried...

this past weekend a few of us headed to the Rodeo for incredibly delicious but bad for you foods.. which is the only reason my group of friends go to the Rodeo. * we met up jeannie just long enough to snap this photo

because we had heard of the parking nightmares when going to the rodeo, we opted to ride the ligh-rail.. it was a first for all of us.

Once we arrived the 4 of us immediately began eating.. our list of consumed foods included: turkey legs (1 fried and 1 smoked), bratwurst (x3), roasted corn (x4), corndog, millennium chips (with chili, cheese, bacon, and jalapenos), funnel cake, fried oreos... i think that's it.

D managed to stop by every concession along route to add more mustard and/or hot sauce to whatever he was consuming at that moment in time. ( i think i know what to get him for his birthday.)

and games were played... while money was lost. :(

test subject.

i meant to post this awhile ago.. but it's pretty much a repost of what dru already posted on his blog.

so dru recently bought a light kit, to move forward in his dreams of starting studioDru, or Drutography, or TIGFOtography... whatever name he decides his photog business to be.

anyways 2 weekends ago, he decided it was finally time to set it up and test it out, and i so happened to be there, and yen just so happened to show up as well. (we had preplanned a gossip folks gathering).. after taking a few test shots with various light scenarios (1 light vs. 2 lights vs 3 lights) we headed out to Catalan for some wine/drinks and $12 bone marrow.

Dru always manages to capture great photos, but when they're of me, it's 1 vs 100.
this time was a rare event.. of course he's taken some of my fav photos (ie, profile photo on cliff and the infamous 'rap video' photo)

excuse me miss..

"..but do you have another form of id? no rly."

it's unfortunate that the line above will be something i remember from my 27th birthday. but seriously i need to not let it get to me any more than it already has. time to get over it.

moving on, saturday was my birthday and i was surrounding by my OMGBFFs and a few other good friends/coworkers. dinner was at REEF, and well afterwards, you can read dru's blog for the details there.
anyways i had a great time being with my friends, as gatherings like these are always a great reminder of how awesome your friends are... and well my friends are the awesomest.

oh and i got 10 bottles of soju/sake for my birthday.... i guess to go with all my kdrama watching.

BOO!

Happy Halloween!

today at work there was a costume contest, so i of course decided to dress up.. as tifa from advent children (no i did not win).. most people thought i was a power ranger.. or chun-li. oh well. though not many people dressed up, officedad did! sorta.. if you count a mask and carrying a fake weapon, as dressing up. the photo of us above was taken by officeboss, at first i attempted to do a selfportrait of us. since i'm usually an expert at it. but yeah. someone was too tall. anyways.. as usual i had to play martha and make cupcakes for the boys at work. dark chocolate cupcakes filled with dark chocolate ganache and frangelico frosting.

officebff made this awesome to the max video for me. this is proof that he rocks more than me sometimes.
so enjoy.... the saturday night competition... and dru's super sweet dance moves.

a drutastic weekend.

dru's birthday celebrations tend to last longer than the normal allotted 5 hours most other omgbff members get. but that's ok, because this weekend was awesome to the max!

friday night we started off with dinner at artista, for overpriced américa's fare with less selections on the menu.

followed by the musical Avenue Q at the hobby center... which can be easily described as a saucy puppet show. i was quite skeptical at first after hearing the song list (ex. it sucks to be me, everyone's a little bit racist, and everyones favorite the internet is for pr0n) and reading the description from wiki, despite it beating out wicked for the tony for best musical of the year after its first year on broadway, but it was actually quite entertaining and a lot of fun! I highly recommend it for the not faint at heart.

no birthday night is complete without a trip to a club/lounge. so off to deco for us, for drinking and dancing.

saturday (and here is where the story will surely vary in levels of details)
anyways dru wanted to attend a halloween party so that he could gawk at all the scantily clad women, and he wanted to drag me and jstar along with him. previously jstar had brought back mike & sulley costumes for her and dru from japan, and apparently bao had first asked them what they were dressing up as and they suggested for him to be the little girl boo, after bao immediately hung up they decided on giving me a call. ye of little faith dru didn't think that i would go, but i agreed unknowing that i was the alternate choice. so after running around most of the day in an attempt to find a big pink shirt, i ended up with kid pjs and looked like i was dressed up as a kid from the 80s. so nighttime came and we were off dressed as the 'most conservative' or 'least sexy' of the night. when we arrived the price gouging had already begun with cover at $20. we paid and went in despite our displeasure. the place was quick to fill up of tons of people we did not know. and dru kept mentioning the costume contest throughout the night, until a girl with a clipboard came by and asked him if he wanted to sign up for the contest, and of course he did (again despite our displeasure). he insisted that we had to do it because it was his birthday. on the registration form it said that we would have 15-30 seconds of 'fame', to which dru began choreographing a dance for us. so we ended up in the group costume contest with teletubbies and a bunch of sexy girls. while jeannie unencouraged me by saying, "i'm glad i'm not melissa, at least i can hide under my hood". the single/couple contest was first where we saw that they would play hiphoppa music for everyone.. and all the sexy costume ppl did sexy dancing. the outlook was bleak, we were almost certain we would get boo'd off stage. then when the group competition begin, the sexy girl groups kept getting boo'd off stage one by one.. and hope peaked through ever so slightly. i mean the teletubbies made it through.. so we're one of the last groups to go.. dru rushes us out there and we do our sweet dance moves. (i never look out in the crowd the entire time) and in the end the roar of the crowd was cheers not jeers! pushing into the next round of the final 5. 10 more seconds of ridiculous dance moves and the final cheers for the winners were estimated by the hosts. we amazingly came out in 2nd place. it was surreal. though we totally could have taken 1st. we got beat out by teletubbies. but hey we totally took sexy back and came out with the $500 prize. i think there were a lot of predators in the audience that night.

and sunday we had omgbff day in the park. grilled burgers, chicken and fish. barbie cupcakes for dru, and touch football.

dru says: DO NOT WANT

i'm totally exhausted.

oops i rasterbated.

saturday. me and roz had 'date night' full of shopping, dinner & wine, kdrama, and rasterbating. yes you heard me right. anyways, dru was supposed to join us for at least one of the above activities, but he ended up just driving to dinner with us. as payback for leaving us girls to dine alone as he partied with friends not us, we wanted to make sure at least his home new where his heart was. what better way than to rasterbate all over his wall. the rasterbator, is an amazing tool that creates an enlarged rasterized image from any picture. i mean huge, like wall size. my 8 sheet dru photo is minuscule in comparison to what it can do. the images come out so that up close they are not so clear, but from a few feet away it's perfect. me and roz enjoyed rasterbating together, and you will too! so go home and rasterbate all over your walls.
